Minitrekking is one of the most impressive excursions to Perito Moreno Glacier. For some hours the passenger can feel like the protagonist of a great adventure: walking on the glacier.
With specialized mountain guides, a 1:30 hour trek is carried out on the glacier with crampons, where you can see cracks, “serac”, lagoons and small internal streams of the glacier. This excursion takes 10 hours.
Buses leave early in the morning from El Calafate, visiting the viewpoints of the Glacier for approximately one hour, then embarking on “Puerto Bajo de Las Sombras” to sail for 20 minutes in front of the southern wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier until reaching the area of the base shelter.
The visit to the walkways is included in the transfer service. The total walking time between forest and ice is 3 hours. There are different schedules, according to availability. It must be booked in advance. It can be done by people within the following age range: 8 to 65 years old.
