In January 2018, I had the excuse of my life to travel to El Calafate: the wedding of a great friend. My expectations were high, but they were widely exceeded by this city/town inhabited and visited by many nationalities and especially people from Cordoba. My son and I stayed at the Las Cumbres Cabins, which were very easy to access to the shopping center. This gave me the opportunity to explore the city daily by walking. We enjoyed walks to explore the fauna and flora in front of Lake Argentino.
We learned about the history of the glaciers through a visit to the museum located in the city, tasted delicious chocolates from the Guerrero Chocolatería, which are homemade, and bought some to give as gifts. And of course, the big day of the excursion to Los Glaciares National Park arrived, and we had the imposing presence of the Perito Moreno Glacier before our eyes. We also went to spend the day and have a delicious barbecue at the Lago Roca campsite. We even traveled part of the famous Route 40. I can’t wait to go back!!
